JACL Turkey Bingo

Saturday, November 04, 2017 at 4:00 pm held at Highland Park UMC
  • This is a family friendly event and children are welcome
  • Everyone has a chance to win a gift card at a local grocery store
  • Doors will open by 3:30 pm
  • Cards are $2 each and you can play the same card all night
  • This event is FREE to members and cost for non-members is $25
  • Light refreshments and beverages will be provided

JACL Spokane Chapter Thank You Luncheon - Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at Sukiyaki Inn

To thank our Spokane Chapter JACL members, we would like to treat you to lunch at the Sukiyaki Inn, on the chapter. Established in 1947, Sukiyaki Inn has been a pioneer in introducing the world of Japanese cuisine to friends and families in Spokane and the surrounding area. The event will be Sunday, June 11 from 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Doors will be open at 12:30pm.

​The Spokane Chapter JACL will keep this long-time tradition going. We will recognize and remember those of the Spokane Japanese community, or those who have strong ties to the Japanese community, who have passed away within the previous year.

A short program will be held starting at 2 pm.

JACL National Council approved a resolution and budget amendment accessing a $17 surcharge on memberships receiving the print edition of the Pacific Citizen.

The Spokane Chapter will be paying this surcharge for our senior members. We are working with national’s membership contacts so if you are a senior member and have paid this surcharge before we could contact you, please call any board member and leave your name, phone number and a message about paying the surcharge.

Your options for this $17 surcharge:
  • If you are a senior member and want to continue to receive your printed copy of the PC in your mail – do nothing.
  • If you are a senior member and want to start receiving it by email, contact any board member.
  • If you are a non-senior member and want to continue to receive your printed copy of the PC in your mail – you will need to pay the $17 surcharge with your next membership renewal.
  • If you are a non-senior member and want to start receiving it by email, contact any board member.

Spokane Chapter Membership Dues Schedule (NOTE – Lower amounts):
  • Senior Memberships
    • Seniors (70+) - Individual $30
    • Seniors (70+) - Couple $50
  • Non-Senior Memberships
    • ​Individual $60
    • Student $25
    • Couple/Family $105

What: Canadian book writer and equal rights advocate Diana Morita Cole presents “Echoes of Nikkei Dispersal”, a reading of her acclaimed book “Memoir of a Misfit”

With the first Washington State screening of the documentary film “Hidden Internment: Story of Art Shibayama”.

When: During the EWU “Get Lit!” Festival on Saturday, April 22, 2017, 3:00 pm

Where: Assembly Hall at the Kasuka Library on the campus of Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute

Other Details: Free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
