]]>Wed, 02 Mar 2011 21:59:49 -0800http://www.spokanejacl.org/1/post/2011/03/hina-matsuri-saturday-march-5th-1-3-pm-at-spokane-buddhist-temple.html This is a family friendly event.  Girls' Day is called Hina Matsuri or momo no sekku, peach flower festival, where a set of hina dolls wearing kimonos are displayed to bring girls' happiness and good health.  A traditional Japanese doll display is set up, craft activities and light finger food are provided.  Space is limited to please make your reservations on-line by selecting the "Sign-Up Sheets and App" tab and then clicking on the Hina Matsuri Reservation Form.  Members are free and non-members are $5 per person.

Main Avenue.  It will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.  There is no cost to attend.  It will be moderated by Heidi Park from the Win/Win Network in Seattle, and Kendee Yamaguchi , the Executive Director of the Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. 

It will focus on how our Asian Pacific American community can become better connected to local and State agencies and how our voice can make a difference in advocacy for education, health, economic development issues that affect our lives.  Please invite your friends and business colleagues to this informative session.
